Stunning Rustic barn wedding Shoot

Barn weddings are the perfect venue to capture a rustic, yet elegant vibe. Wooden barrels, mason jars and chalkboards create a relaxed, vintage atmosphere and the large open space acts like a blank canvas for a variety of themes and seasons.

I was fortunate enough to provide the desserts for this dreamy barn shoot, planned by Madison at A Day to Dream Weddings, and I am over the moon to have been featured and published on Today’s Bride Magazine. Check out the article here!

The mood for this shoot was inspired by the romantic, rustic feel of the venue, which features a stunning landscape of rolling hills and valleys. Heritage View Barn is located in Alliston, just outside of the GTA and sits on private acreage. Their bridal suite, which is a restored farmhouse from the 1800’s emphasises the country vibe and makes the perfect spot to get ready.

Fleurish Barrie provided the stunning florals that tied all the decor and design together. Woody, earth tones with a splash of deep red create the perfect combination of colour to amplify the rustic chic ambiance. Local photographer Marianne captured the vibe perfectly.

Caitlin looked stunning in both white and black dresses provided by Richmond Hill Bridal Boutique. Madison was inspired to have a dramatic, statement making dress after seeing Christine Quinn’s stunning gothic princess style wedding dress on Selling Sunset. Who knew a black wedding dress could be so beautiful!

I prepared the desserts for this shoot, which included 4 dozen cupcakes and a 3 layer semi naked cake. Madison sent some pictures for inspiration and I had a lot of creative freedom in coming up with the flavours and design. In addition to your classic vanilla and red velvet,  I decided to incorporate some autumn flavours to match the mood. Pumpkin spice with cream cheese icing and rich chocolate fudge with salted caramel really help to bring this shoot to life.

I am so thrilled to have been given the opportunity to connect and work with these amazing local vendors. 2020 has been difficult for everyone, and the events  industry has been hit particularly hard. It is so important to support local vendors, especially in these uncertain times. If you are in the GTA and planning a wedding or hosting an event in the future, get in touch with me so we can help you plan the day of your dreams!
